Artist Statement

Conceptual innovation, a robust work ethic, and creative portfolio management are all essential components to success in the art world. As a skilled professional with experience driving the development and completion of various successful artistic and design projects. Through painting, creating, and art, I seek to express color in all its beauty. Colors make us sense happiness, something that we forget sometimes. I also use it as an opportunity to explore the range of possibilities that exist through the subtle choices of color changes, compositions, methods of applications, surface preparations, etc. My art is not an excuse to represent imagery or direct aspects from the real world, I like to believe we are not alone in this immense universe and I have a passion for mother earth and I’m always looking to create eco-friendly proposals and nature conservation. However, this may not be the popular view, but to me, art speak gibberish is art’s own worst enemy. The object is always there, and it should be discussed directly. Rather than carefully stepping around the object and thinking about what it might be, I focus on what it is. I’m happy to have become a self-taught and multifaceted artist. Aside from basic art classes I pursued sculptures, muralism, and ceramic classes. The knowledge base I continue to expand has allowed me to sharpen my artistic skills to be able to realize, visualize and express my emotions, thoughts, and ideas. For inspiration, I look the nature, my dreams, and the creative experience that make us grow.

What inspires you to be an artist and what inspiration can you pass on to others?

So, back to the subject. What inspires you as an artist? Can you sit at the edge of the forest and see how the shadows and light play on the colors of nature? Does traveling to an exotic location and seeing the unique geography, the rare crystal blue of the Caribbean, or the rainbow after the rain and the sun inspire you and give your ideas for your work? For some, people are inspirations. Others notice the symmetry or asymmetry of an object, the textures, colors, or patterns. Something as simple as a bird happily singing on a sunny spring morning can inspire you and jump-start your creativity! Life is an inspiration and I create to inspire.

How are you giving back to your community?

One of the most effective ways of giving back is volunteering your time at places like your local non-profit, school, homeless shelter, animal shelter, etc. Your time is valuable and gifting it can make a world of difference in the lives of many. Once every 3 months, I go with some friends around Wynwood and give some food to the homeless people. I Go to hospitals and give art classes to kids, you have to see their happy faces its priceless

Let’s end with a fun fact about you.

“I am an artist – This means I live in a perverse fantasy world with unrealistic expectations. Thank you for understanding”

Anything else you would like to include?

The world is bright…enjoy what you see, when the sun is shining look at the vibration of everything…. And when is dark appreciate the mysterious silence in your mind and the fear will become fun … -DASV –
