EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!

F a b r i z i o   C r u z

It all started when I was seven years old and my mother found me painting over her wedding dress, it was a perfect empty surface!

My work is influenced by the concept of materialism versus spiritualism. Not religious but the spirit, the essence inside a living form.

I play with color, texture and the lack to create the significance of a piece. Non-descriptive characters that emphasize the idea of no specific gender or race.

For me, the entire process from idea to sketch, building a frame and stretching the canvas brings excitement and satisfaction.

My work is tactile for two reasons.

1- I want to include visually challenged people to experience my work.

2- I want people to realize that what they are touching is some material that should be recycled to avoid more pollution into the environment.

My Digital Work is the same but with layered visual textures to create a dimensional world. The characters remain the same.

Influences include Modigliani, Kandinsky, Munch, Klimt, Basquiat, Hush.
