We would love to know more about you:

What is something you had to put off because of the pandemic that you have recently done or is on your list to do soon?
Actually, I had to put my art aside prior to the pandemic as I was teaching many hours of arts integration in schools and it was hard to find the time. Since the pandemic, I have been painting a lot and it’s great! Now I only teach privately.

What does your art future hold for you?
Who knows…I’m going to keep doing what I do. I go with the flow and I create for myself. I hope I can always reach more people and connect with like-minded individuals.

How do you keep motivated:
I take care of my body and mind. I believe eating healthy and exercising are crucial to keep me motivated. I love going to the beach and gardening without shoes or gloves on.

Name a famous artist that inspires you and one not yet famous artist you would like the readers to know about. I am a big fan of Dali.  Also, many local artists I know personally inspire me. My husband is an amazing multitalented artist that keeps me on my toes. I am always expecting his next moves with excitement. @craigmcinnisstudios Check him out!

Is there a current or upcoming show or exhibit you want to let people know about? I am actually getting ready for my solo show opening this Friday May 5th at The Peach 🍑 (@thepeachwpb). The show will be up for the entire month. Viewing hours are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 5:30-8:30 pm.

What inspires you to be an artist and what inspiration can you pass on to others? I just always loved creating. I always got something I want to get out of my head and art is the way I do it. Creating is such a great way to come to terms with your thoughts and feelings. It’s therapeutic and I believe everyone should try it.

How are you giving back to your community? I teach fundamental drawing and prep lessons for Dreyfoos. I like to inspire younger generations to keep being creative. I am always on the lookout for events and artist calls that support the causes I believe in. My husband and I donate monthly to Inner City Innovators. Check them out!

Let’s end with a fun fact about you. Anything else that you would like to include? I have papaya plants and I am always gifting my friends delicious papayas. What earned me the hashtag #papayasuplaya 😂
